Laptops Under 500-Where to Buy Them

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

When you are trying to buy laptops under 500, there is one place that I would recommend. That place is ebay! Ebay is well known throughout the world for having the lowest priced items anywhere. Especially, if you are looking to purchase electronics, ebay cannot be beat. When you purchase a laptop from ebay, you will definitely be able to save up to 70 percent off retail price. In order to get this discount though, you will have to take several precautions.

First of all, you need to make sure that you bid from a seller who is reputable. Would you want to pay several hundred dollars only to find out many weeks later that the seller has completely scammed you? I think not! There are many people on ebay who will setup a temporary profile and then try to sell very cheap items online. Once they get their payment, then they will disappear. Therefore, I highly suggest that you only bid on items whose sellers have a long list of good positive feedback. When you buy laptops under 500 from sellers with good feedback, you will be able to rest assured knowing that you have made a good investment even if it is more expensive than the other sellers.

Next, it is important that the listing that you are bidding on has real photos are at least a very detailed description. Many of the sellers will put up generic photos that can be found all throughout the internet. As a result, once you receive your cheap laptop in the mail, it may look completely different from the beautiful stock photo you saw online. Your laptops may have scratches and other blemishes that were not listed by the seller.

The last thing that I suggest you emphasize on is the reserve price of the seller. If the seller is looking to get a lot from his laptop, you may not be able to get your laptops under $500. The reason why is that their reserve may actually be over 5o0 dollars. This would be at a disadvantage for you, so make sure that you check out the reserve price before you bid. Otherwise, you will be disappointed when you are the top bidder, but then you find out that you have not won the auction because you have not reached the reserve price. There are other auction sites available as well, but as of now ebay tends to be the most reliable and best out there.
